| In 1995, the Torino Design: "From car design to the spoon" operation presented Design as a strategic resource for the Piemontese context. Today, with the Italian Design System study financed by the Ministry of the University and Scientific and Tecnological Research and which involved 17 italian University centres, the phenomenon has been re-read in a systemic key, continuing and developing the past insights and asking new questions: as well as recognising obvious Design activity (cars, household good, taps, sports equipment, appliances, mechanical tools etc.) - sectors with a long - estabilished presence in the region both in terms of project and production, and often both - what conditions and openings emerge that will trigger new design-oriented activities and strenghthen the Design network? |
